Today’s communication is predominantly of visual nature, it assumes communicating through images, passing on messages between the sender and the addressee in the visual form and through the media. For example a painting can be one of the media. The article discusses selected canvases by Caravaggio, a globally recognized painter, as pieces of art that undoubtedly communicate spiritual and theological values. Although Caravaggio is thought to be a dramatic artist, unrestrained, being in the element of his passions, someone who lost his life, his works communicate something completely different. The painting analysis shows that through the composition, capturing human igures, colors the artist often talks about the harmony and human happiness in the context of the Christian religion, and eschatology in particular.
