From 19 to 22 October 2022, an international scientific conference, entitled Rethink Impact, was held in Aarhus. The meeting was organized by the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the Department of Media and Journalism Studies at Aarhus University and the Danish School of Media and Journalism. The topic of the conference was a framework for discussing how research, academic education and training interact with each other and affect society. The main theme of the conference Rethink Impact became an occasion for its participants to formulate a fundamental question about the identity and autonomy of representatives of social communication and media sciences in their research in the context of current debates on social transformation.
