Biased media coverage of the descent of Emilia Wojtyła, mother of John Paul II

From the beginning of the first day of the pontificate of John Paul II, contradictory theories were spread by the foreign media on the roots of his mother. According to them, she was to be Jewish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian or Slovak. This paper aims to determine the sources of these theories. It also proves that they are baseless, as it presents historical evidence which speaks of Emilia Wojtyłowa`s Polish roots. According to recently disclosed archives, she was born in Kraków, but her family descends from Mazowsze (interestingly, her grandfather Mikołaj Kaczorowski has died in Warsaw).
