Radio reportage as a manifestation of quality journalism on the example of a broadcast on Radio Krakow

The subject of this article is the search for narrative forms in radio reports, which are a demonstration of quality journalism in public stations and the most difficult genre formula in this medium. The narratives are not treated as individual utterances of the characters, but as an overall message that aims to reach the listener with a specific message. The study of all reports that appeared on Radio Krakow during the Covid-19 pandemic used a method based on content analysis, referring to quantitative and qualitative research. The results showed a significant dominance of two types of narrative. First one is storytelling and the other is characterized by chaos, fragmentation and incoherence of the message. This classification led to the description of individual reports in terms of the narrative factor and made it possible to formulate conclusions of an applied nature.
