In the moment regained independence by Poland and in the early days of the Second Polish Republic, society was struggling with the Spanish flu epidemic (1918–1919). The press of that period is an extremely valuable source of information on the course of this disease. An interesting local research aspect in this context is the narrative of Crakow dailies. In order to present the presentation of the Spanish epidemic in its initial stage in the Krakow daily press, three flagship titles characterized by different program trends were analyzed: „Czas”, „Głos Narodu” and „IKC”. The content analysis covered the period from September 18 to October 31, 1918, i.e. from the first press reports about the cases of a Spanish flu until the end of the second month of fighting her.
