Media information in the service of solidarity

Media information can serve the purpose of solidarity of attitudes, constituting one of the basic values sustaining a fair dimension of social life. Information that stands for solidarity becomes a timeless challenge for the media and a ticket to good journalism. Therefore, good journalism can only be practiced by a good person, because information always has an ethical dimension. This means that bad people cannot do good journalism. For goodness is an attempt to understand the difficult moments of people in need in order to become part of their fate. For this reason, solidarity that is shared responsibility is expressed in joint taking responsibility for what is happening in this world, what depends on people. The reminder of solidarity understood in this way - in the context of the war in Ukraine and millions of war refugees - obliges the nations of the world to become more involved in stopping the war and bringing about a just peace, and to providing specific assistance to refugees fleeing the war.
