The hate speech belongs to one of characteristic effects in communication. The phenomenon of hate speech is not a term that could be easily definable. The purpose of this article is to systematize the understanding hate speech. As a result of research it may be argued that understanding of hate speech cannot be narrowed down in discourse. The second aim of my paper is to show that the phenomenon of hate speech does not imply anything new in communication. In eristic (in Schopenhauer’s understanding of that term) we are able to identify the same elements, which draws attention in the hate speech. Such case fulfills for example in the usage of argumentum ad personam.
