Improving teachers’ media competences during the COVID-19 pandemic – the perspective of Teachers’ Professional Development Institutions

The purpose of the article is to outline what improving teachers’ media competences looked like during the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of Teachers Professional Development Institutions (TPDI) with accreditation of Local Education Authority. The work uses an analytical and synthetic method based on literature, reports and information from Local Education Authorities and it presents the results of quantitative research sourced in Teachers Professional Development Institutions. The starting point of the work is a synthetic picture of a position of TPDI in Polish educational system as well as teachers’ media competences and their development during the COVID-19 pandemic. Further on, there were presented the results of the research and formulated conclusions. At the end, there were pointed out recommendations for further researches and propositions of practical solutions.
