Barbarity from the point of view of Michel de Montaigne

This article is an approximation of the views of French humanist Michel de Montaigne on barbarity. He concluded his thoughts on the three- volume work Essays, where one chapter is dedicated to cannibalism and barbarity. As it turns out this savagery Montaigne does not assign to primary or nomadic peoples, but to the Europeans. To understand why it does, I will briefly introduce the then France, where it was a lot of horrific events. These actions made ??a great impression on Montaigne, which had an impact on the contents ofEssays. It is equally important to look at the relationship "we" - "they", the Europeans - the tribes of South America.
