From 22 to 24 September 2022, the 6th Congress of the Polish Communication Association was held in Gdańsk. The leading theme "Media and society in the era of platforms, algorithms and data" referred to changes in communication and media in the era of the so-called "fourth industrial revolution". The specific issues presented in the speeches of the speakers included the following: the impact of information technologies on the media and society, the boundaries between private and public communication, changing relationships and dependencies in communication processes, transformations, strategies and management in the data era, the quality of communication in the face of threats, the role of journalists in the era of data and the pandemic, media policy and political discourse in the era of platforms, algorithms and data
